What is Surraura?
Surraura is a macOS application that transforms any audio playing on your computer into an immersive spatial experience. Whether you're listening to Spotify, watching YouTube, or on a video call, Surraura wraps that audio in beautiful, realistic acoustic environments.
Why We Built This
We believe that sound shapes how we feel and work. A coffee shop's ambient buzz can spark creativity. Rain on a window can bring calm. But accessing these environments isn't always possible.
Surraura brings these spaces to you. With real impulse responses captured from actual locations and carefully designed ambient soundscapes, we've created something that feels genuinely immersive - not just "background noise."
How It Works
Surraura captures your system audio (using BlackHole) and processes it through:
- Device Simulation - Your music can sound like it's playing through a vintage radio, a warm hi-fi system, or any other acoustic device
- Room Convolution - Using real impulse responses, we place your audio in realistic acoustic spaces
- Ambient Soundscapes - Layered environmental audio that completes the immersion
The result is that your music doesn't just play - it exists in a space.
